The Peggy Lutz Shibori Kimono
A one-of-a-kind, hand dyed, silk kimono exclusive for Peggy Lutz Plus by Joslin Design of Petaluma, California.
This one fits up to PLP Size 1X (30/32) and is 39" long.
The exceptional "hand" or drape of the fabric and Janet Joslin’s own kimono style make these amazing pieces almost "one size fits all". Sizing info given above reflects the largest PLP size that can wear each kimono.
Internationally known fabric artist Janet Joslin created this unique, collaged kimono using a Japanese dyeing technique called Arashi Shibori. A small piece of fabric is folded and wound around a large pole. A string is then wound around the pole to create lines or resist. The fabric is put into a dye vat to remove color and then into another vat to add color. The fabric is removed and rewound several times, a very intricate and lengthy process! The result: A dramatic, unique, wearable art Shibori Kimono.
This garment has been pre-washed, is color fast, and can be washed by hand or dry cleaned.
